Yes! The idea that lives are so expendable -- here in the U.S., and around the world -- not only dehumanize the people harmed, but the people who care for those people, who birthed those people. It's a mass terror that touches us all. I can't say enough how much I hope that the dehumanization we see doesn't lead to desensitization in the rest of us. I love this reminder how how people's brains change through caregiving -- I hope we start to see the shifts in all of us soon.

I want to keep amplifying your statement: "Maybe it’s possible that our brains are re-organizing around how vulnerable bodies are, and how precious bodies are, and how being connected has always been our best protection and our safe place. And maybe that could help carry us to a better place."
