Was just talking to a friend about the longest relationships in my life — the one I have with myself and the ones I have with my treasured friends! This piece reminds me of what is truly important — my college experience was a lot like your high school one: the relief of being in a place where I really found my people!

OMG I also went to skyline high school, but alas I did not have the same experience. Wild! My girlfriends will always be where it's at.

Aw! I think I lucked out, for sure. If it helps, middle school sucked, haha!

I am very lucky to have an amazing husband BUT he could never take the place of my girlfriends. I missed out as a teen… I felt like girls were catty and I wasn’t into clothes or makeup like they were so I hung out with the boys. I didn’t get the benefits of female friendship until adulthood. Now? I absolutely would not survive without the women who old my hands and keep me afloat. So grateful for them!

For so many of us this is the case. Whether you’re happily in a heterosexual relationship or not, GF’s are essential. And if sh* hits the fan, we know the women in our lives keep us afloat ❤️

I think about this often - if my husband and I ever ended things, I would never again get partnered or married to a man!

I mean it’s kind of a trend for divorced Gen x and millennial women (the divorce memoir etc)!

I’m happily repartnered but I get the appeal…
