If all the women who had abortions because they were too young or with the wrong partner or were too poor or wanted to further their education or already had too many children and knew it was the wrong time there would be hundreds and thousands of women and some enlightened men who support a womens right to control of her body And not allow a repressive government decide their futures.
Thanks so much to you Allison, and your mother, for sharing this. When I read it, all I can think is: this is what it will be like now for my students, for my daughter, for my nieces, for my friends. This is what women will have to do--this dangerous, risky, horrible situation that I don't want anyone to be in. And this, as you both mention, is if they are lucky. This is the *best case* scenario. The worst case scenarios are wrenching. Facing the reality gives me more resolve to fight for change. Thank you.
