Thank you for this inspiring blog: Jews don't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Our rituals are a place to support our values of justice and equality. There is liberation Judaism that supports healing the world.

"our job as human beings is not to wait for divine intervention, but that we are here to intervene."

Thank you so so much for this timely and loving interview with Morgan. They are divine intervention embodied!

Remembering humor - yes, this!! - thank goddess I got a good dose of that in this lifetime, and feeling into this as a skill when I feel immobilized/fear around difficult conversations with myself...those who oppose my views... especially noticing my relationship of "superiority" and the "false refuge" that accompanies it.

Also, as mothers day/parents day approaches it is such a relief to remember into making ritual whatever-the-fuck-we-want - to create meaning, love, witness, and liberation.

Yes, this resonated so much with me! "Our job as human beings is not to wait for divine intervention, but that we are here to intervene." It also feels hopeful instead of immobilizing.

THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this interview with the brilliant and wise Morgan Bassichis.

Seeing their show last year led me to question most, if not all of what I was taught about Israel in Hebrew School. The events of the last seven months have led me to question it all.

They say so much, but what I most love is the pragmatic question of : does militarization work? Does nationalism work? Does any of it actually keep Jews (or anyone else) safe?

I remember our family Passover Seders as a kid. Our Haggadah would say that if you had to distill Judaism down to one word, it would be “compassion”.

Three pages later, God slew all the first born Egyptians, even if they were babies. Huh?

This idea that “we are only safe when others are not” is immoral and most importantly IT DOESN’T WORK.

Thank you for this awesome interview. I encourage everyone to see Morgan live. They are a genius and also completely hilarious.
